Gaillac is at the centre of this wine producing area. There are over a hundred local vignerons producing red, white, perlé (slightly sparkling), rosé and doux (a sweet wine). All the vignerons are very proud of their wines and enjoy letting people taste what they have produced. Our immediate neighbours at Cantoperlic always enjoy giving tastings to our visitors

The annual Wine Festival held at Gaillac during the second weekend in August attracts thousands of visitors and is well worth a visit. Lisle-sur-Tarn also celebrate their Gaillac wines and their festival takes place in mid-July. You can see (and perhaps join in) grape picking during October and November.

The area around Giroussens is famous for its pottery. In the village there is a Maison de Ceramique to visit and each year a superb Fete de Pottery is held in the streets around the end of April.

There are lots of opportunities for walking in the area. They range from the very short to the seriously challenging and encompass a great variety of terrains and wildlife. We have available information on all these types of walks.

One of the special walks (early November) organised each year is to celebrate the first wine (primeur) produced. This involves a picnic and visiting a number of vignerons to sample their primeur.
